Starting from the original settlement of Hongpo “Red Hill” village (20-minute drive). This village is also known as Raa or Goat in Tibetan due to the shape of the mountain nearby. The walk goes from Raa, through Bengjia Village, over a few short mountain passes, across a grazing meadow, into Hapi Village and up to the Hapi Monastery.
This walk is a nice opportunity to see a few different villages, nomadic herding life, and a small monastery that has a long history.
For those staying at Red Hill B&B, the hike starts right from the door. Otherwise, we will take you to the start and then arrange for a pick-up at Hapi Monastery.
