Tiger Leaping Gorge is the classic walk of the region. For good reason it is #1 on so many people’s list. In spite of the road construction on one end and the scenic area’s platform that has attracted so many tourists in the last few years, it still remains an amazing part of Shangri-la’s geography.

Many people are comfortable taking the extra time needed to navigate this trail without a guide. However, hopefully TMG can help make it go smoothly and provide private transportation to make the most out of your time here in the Shangri-la region. We know many people want to get even more off the beaten track, but don’t want to miss TLG. This full day affords you to get the best portion of the high trail in Tiger Leaping Gorge and get between Lijiang and Shangri-la in the same day.

We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel in Lijiang (or Shangri-la), drive into Tiger Leaping Gorge and all the way up to Tea Horse Guesthouse. From there, we’ll start with some lunch before hiking the 2 hour portion of the trail to Halfway House. For this portion of the trail, you will be hiking mostly on your own, but this bit of the trail is easy to follow. We will then meet you and drive down to the main viewing platform in the afternoon when the crowds start to die down a little bit.

From here, we will continue on to Shangri-la (or Lijiang) for you to continue your journey and exploration of the many other amazing places here.

Transportation includes a one way transfer from either Lijiang to Shangri-la or Shangri-la to Lijiang if preferred.
